Welcome to 30-second critique.

Welcome to 30-second critique.

Many photographers and artists practicing their art form are not so fortunate as to have a network of like minded people to receive feedback on a recent or ongoing project.  I realized upon finishing my M.F.A in photography that one of the things I would miss the most was the close network of friends and colleagues from whom I could share my work and receive constructive criticism on my work.

The goal of 30-second critique is give artists this much desired critique by building a network of artists and photographers and provide a forum to receive constructive criticism about work.

All of us are short on time and don’t seem to be able to fit into our busy schedules the chance to give this feedback to others.   As well as building around a time constraint, there is also something to be said about the “shoot from the hip” concept of giving feedback.

In 30-second critique not only do we encourage those “gut response” critiques on a project but we also encourage a need to not get carried away and self limit the critique to the signature “30 seconds”.

We feel that by establishing this type of forum will encourage higher participation and allow this new network to flourish.

As a college photography instructor I see students just itching for feedback on their work.  I hope that through this forum I can open up this opportunity for feedback to all artists and photographers.
